Corrections, Appeals, Archival, and Removal Policy

This policy governs how corrections, appeals, archival, and removals work on VegasBlacklist. It applies to every published listing and every dispute response.

Grounds for correction. A listing is corrected when: a factual detail is shown to be wrong (date, amount, business name, etc.), evidence is found to be incomplete or misleading in a specific respect, or new information changes a material fact in the original report. A correction is added as a visible addendum — the original text stays visible with the correction attached, so the record shows what changed and when, rather than being silently rewritten.

Grounds for removal. A listing may be removed when: the underlying matter is resolved and the submitter withdraws it, a court finds the underlying claim false, the listing violates the Community Content Rules (harassment, doxxing, fabricated evidence, etc.), the named party is confirmed to be a case of mistaken identity, or the listing no longer meets the Evidence Standards after re-review.

Appeals. Anyone affected by a moderation decision — a rejected report, a published listing, a rejected dispute — may file one structured appeal per decision. Appeals are reviewed by a different moderator than the one who made the original decision, whenever staffing allows. Appeal decisions are final unless new evidence is presented.

Archival. Removed listings are not permanently deleted outright — they are archived internally for record-keeping and legal-hold purposes per the Data Retention Policy, but are taken down from public view immediately upon a valid removal decision.

Mistaken identity — urgent path. Claims of mistaken identity (wrong person entirely, not a dispute of the facts) are flagged for expedited moderator review given the direct harm of misattribution.
